Giving back is in our DNA. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is influenced by employee values. Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s commitment to community involvement has consistently been the highest rated category in our employee engagement survey and we are proud to align this passion with our business objectives. 

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ CSR encompasses community sponsorships, donations and partnerships from the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Charitable Foundation with an emphasis on employee volunteering and donation efforts.

Spirit of Central Iowa Award

In 2024, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ won the Spirit of Central Iowa award for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year and sixth time overall. The recognition is testament to the dedication Âé¶¹´«Ã½ employees display every day. It is also symbolic of our philanthropic spirit and how we show up.

United Way of Central Iowa

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ has partnered with the United Way of Central Iowa for over a decade to make an impact in central Iowa through various donations and volunteer efforts. United Way’s dedication to the aligns with Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s CSR pillars and mission. 

In 2024, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ employees participated in the 11th annual weeklong United Way Campaign, volunteering over 1480 hours and donating just over $1.4 million. 

Grant Kvalheim, CEO and President of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ USA, was selected as the recipient of the prestigious by United Way of Central Iowa in 2024. This award is one of United Way's highest honors, recognizing inspirational, sustained leadership and service to the central Iowa community.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ in the Community

We are committed to supporting the communities in which we live, work and play. Here are a few of the key projects near our US headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa.


Âé¶¹´«Ã½ North Shore Recreation Area at Easter Lake Park

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ donated $1 million toward one of the most universally accessible recreation-focused parks in Iowa, including a one-of-a-kind beachfront and water experiences for all abilities. Led by Polk County Conservation and the Great Outdoors Foundation, the park supports the 370k individuals with disabilities and 240k veterans living in Iowa.

Great Outdoors Foundation

Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s initial gift of $1.875 million over five years provides seed money for a in partnership with the Great Outdoors Foundation. The guarantees at least a four-to-one public to private match, multiplying Iowa's investment in water quality and reflects a commitment to create impactful change for our community and stakeholders.



Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Pedestrian Bridge 

Completed in 2024, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Pedestrian Bridge connects Raccoon River Park with Walnut Woods Park for cyclists and pedestrians to current and future greenway trails in central Iowa. Âé¶¹´«Ã½ gave $750,000 to support the project, which is part of the Great Outdoors Foundation and the City of West Des Moines Five Water Project Partnership.

ChildServe

In 2024, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ committed to $1 million to ChildServe to build the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Therapy Gym, a new rehabilitation center increasing their capacity from 60 to 600 children.


Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity

$500,000 commitment over three years to support their volunteer initiative Habitat Heroes— a program that creates opportunities for volunteers to get involved with Habitat’s mission.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ employees volunteered over 700 hours with Habitat for Humanity in 2024.



WesleyLife Meals on Wheels

Three-year, $300,000 gift to WesleyLife’s Meals on Wheels program to combat food insecurity and isolation among older adults and veterans in central Iowa. Our gift will fund an estimated 31,000 meals from 2024 through 2026.


Game Changers Scholars

Game Changers Scholars provides 40 scholarships each year to support Iowa students pursuing secondary education. Sponsored by the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Charitable Foundation and administered by Scholarship America, the program is designed to help ensure Iowa students of all socioeconomic backgrounds can achieve their educational and career goals. Since the program started in 2021, almost $350,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Iowa students.
